Work Done From Life
The process of creating a painting is an effort by the artist to decode his response to a subject and make a statement, not about what they discovered, but what they learned. I don’t duplicate, I describe an encounter. I surrender to things that draw my attention, things that resonate, things that make the moment and place personal to me. Duplication is a lost opportunity.
